Zoo-ology

All aboard!!! We will travel the world to find out more about animals from around the globe! As students travel they will learn about a variety of zoo animals as they become “experts” about environmental issues impacting animals and their habitats. They will also learn more about what services are needed to create and manage zoos and what types of habitats are best for the survival of those animals. Through creative problem solving they will investigate issues in science and social studies. They will begin to understand the forces of nature and society that create habitat destruction in the wild and the way these events lead to serious declines in animal populations. In some cases, these forces can even lead to the extinction of an entire species.
